The Dōjin Japanese Arts Society 同仁文化会 was proud to be a supporting partner at the opening preview party for this special exhibit at The Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre.

Dōjin Arts was onsite to serve bowls of traditionally prepared Japanese tea as everyone had the opportunity to enjoy the afternoon’s offerings and take in the diverse collection of artwork from Japan.

Event Description From The Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre:

The Superlative Artistry of Japan exhibit includes a cohesive collection of work from a variety of art genres, showcasing technical prowess, unique expressions, and captivating concepts. It combines elaborate Meiji era (1868-1912) pieces with traditional kogei (arts and crafts) that left a profound impact on the 19th-century Japonism movement in Europe. Additionally, the display features contemporary works of exceptional artistry, along with toy figures and meticulously crafted food samples, all of which underscore a profound dedication to craftsmanship.

Enjoy the tranquility of Japanese tea service, including handmade manju and an authentic bowl of matcha tea. Wagashi master Eijun Mitsubori from Japan will make a special appearance to demonstrate the artistry of creating exquisite Japanese sweets.

Browse and bid on carefully curated silent auction items showcasing Japanese cuisine, arts, and cultural experiences that will transport you to the heart of Japan, all while supporting the work of the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre.
