KADO - The Way of Wagashi - with Eijun Mitsubori

Dōjin Arts is proud to have been a supporting partner of this 4-day series of events taking place at The Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre.

From November 4th - 7th 2023, The Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre hosted a series of presentations, including a theatrical performance, hands-on workshops, and masterclasses, on the art of wagashi (seasonal, traditional Japanese sweets) by the singular Eijun Mitsubori.

Eijun Mitsubori, previously known as Junichi, is an avant-garde artist celebrated worldwide for transforming the art of crafting wagashi into a captivating theatrical experience. He is a third generation wagashi artisan and former president of the Japanese Sweets Association Board.

Presentations and workshops were held in Japanese with English interpretation provided by Dōjin Arts.
