Ohara School Ikebana Workshop with Amanda Fu: Celebrating Tanabata

On July 6th, we were delighted to host Amanda Fu, certified professor of the Ohara School of Ikebana, for a hands-on workshop inspired by Tanabata — a traditional Japanese summer festival centered around love and wishes.

Amanda began with an overview of the history of Ohara school as well as the symbolism and significance of Tanabata.

Following a beautiful demonstration, participants were then guided to create their own ikebana arrangement using seasonal flowers and branches. Everyone had a different container to explore. It was a relaxing afternoon working with natural materials.

This workshop was a peaceful and creative way to connect with the summer season and we look forward to hosting more ikebana workshops in the future!
